July 2024, our 15u (2027) squad led by Head Coach Andrew Crozier made history by becoming the first Barrie team to represent Ontario at the Nationals.
The Eliminations is a double knockout tournament, Barrie suffered a defeat early in the tournament to East York 14-7. In order for Barrie to take home the tile they needed to run the table against some incredibly good programs. They won their next two games vs White, and North Toronto setting up a Championship game(s) vs The HPP Tigers.
Barrie needed to win 2 in a row vs the Tigers (A daunting task).
Game 1 – Barrie came out swimming scoring at least one run in each of the first 5 innings, 6 in the 3rd, and 5 in the fourth. Barrie ran away in game 1 winning 14-2.
The second game was tight, tied 5-5 after 5. Barrie took the lead in the 6th with a home run by Ayden Desroches, one of 4 home runs in the game (Wes Crozier, Reiden Cuts, and Ben Lassard). Barrie then shut the Tigers down over the last two innings to earn the 6-5 win, and more importantly the Championship title sending them to Laval Quebec to represent Ontario in the Nationals.
